There are signs of immense promise for the House scene this year as we blast into 2012! Although I haven’t got many tracks to talk about in particular, I do get the overall sense that House music will grow even stronger!

Tim Mason is tipped to have an amazing year, having just released his new single ‘Anima’ on Size Records. He is fast becoming the prodigal son of Angello’s label and this year should firmly establish him as one of the big boys. ‘Anima’, with its big room feel and brilliant builds is just a testament to the Brighton-born DJ’s talent.

Eric Prydz returned to the foreground with his massive remix to M83’s ‘Midnight City’. The track is absolutely amazing. Prydz flaunts his huge arsenal of skills to create this well crafted, uplifting bomb. The sheer warmth blows away the January chills.

Hardwell began the year with the release of his highly anticipated track ‘Spaceman’, and I am glad to say, it doesn’t disappoint! The tune infects your mind and the drop is pure electro. It sounds space age and the chords are very good indeed. Hardwell too looks to have a massive year ahead of him!

The Spinnin’ Records pack must be delighted with their start to 2012, with Afrojack and Shermanology topping the Beatport chart, Timbaland joining their artist roster and the addition to some fresh young talent, Wolfpack to the mix. The label is one of the dominant forces in house music, providing the very biggest of tunes.
‘Can’t Stop Me Now’ by Afrojack and Shermanology has been floating around on the Internet for a long time and many were questioning when it was going to be released, but when the teaser dropped, there was no doubt this was going to be the tune to champion their success into 2012. The big room drop with Afrojack’s trademark bleepy Dutch sound and those delicious vocals mean that the number 1 spot is truly deserved.
‘Amnesia’ is the result of a mega collaboration. Timbaland, Rosette and Brasco join Ian Carey to create a crossover smash (although I am not a huge fan of the drop) with memorable vocals and a feel good chord sequence. There is a big remix package of the track with contributions from Cazzette (who also look to have an incredible year), Yves V, Firebeatz and Ziggy Stardust.
Wolfpack, signed to a sublabel of Spinnin, Smash The House (Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s imprint), are a group of 4 guys who were playing at Tomorrowland and created the epic that is ‘Rising Moon’. The track is anthemic, with big synth builds, dropping into a glorious, hands up banger. The guys themselves are gentlemen, and I am in regular contact with a few who give me feedback and help with my productions!

Talking of my productions, I have just finished a couple of originals and put my Evanescence bootleg on Soundcloud! Things are looking up for Bamboom this year, with lots of work lined up and new things being learnt all the time! I will keep you informed of any progress! In the meantime, keep buying and sharing my single on Subtone Records, ‘Colossus’!
